Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information InstrumentPackage collects through this website and the InstrumentPackage desktop application, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Effective date: July 17, 2026

Summary: We collect only what is needed to respond to your inquiries, process your subscription, deliver your license, and operate the software. Your engineering package data stays on your computer unless you choose an AI mode that processes it through our service. We do not sell personal information.

1. Information collected on this website

  • Contact form submissions: name, work email, phone number (optional), company, and any project details you provide. These are used solely to respond to your inquiry and are processed by Netlify, our website hosting provider.
  • Basic technical data: our hosting provider may log standard web request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability purposes.

2. Payments and billing

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Creem, our merchant of record. When you subscribe, Creem collects your payment card details, billing information, and email address directly on its secure checkout. InstrumentPackage never receives or stores your card number. Creem sends us the information needed to fulfill your purchase, such as your email address, subscription status, and license key. Creem's handling of your payment data is governed by Creem's own privacy policy and terms.

3. License and subscription data

The desktop application periodically validates your license key with our license service to confirm your subscription is active. These checks transmit your license key and basic technical information required to complete the request. Validation results are cached locally on your computer.

4. Your engineering data and AI processing

  • Local by default: package files, settings, uploads, and project data created in the desktop application are stored locally on your computer.
  • Private local AI (Ollama) mode: AI processing runs entirely on your computer. Your prompts, drawings, and documents are not transmitted to us or to any third party.
  • Included AI mode: your prompts and any content you submit to the assistant are transmitted over encrypted connections to our service and forwarded to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing so a response can be generated. Our service does not use this content for advertising and does not sell it.
  • Bring-your-own-key modes: if you configure your own API provider, your content is sent directly from your computer to that provider under their terms.

5. How information is used

  • To respond to inquiries and provide requested demonstrations or support.
  • To process subscriptions, deliver license keys, and verify active subscriptions.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and software, including sending service and product update notices to subscribers.

6. Sharing

We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the product — including Creem (payments and licensing), Netlify (website hosting and forms), our infrastructure providers, and our AI provider for Included AI processing — or where required by law. We do not sell personal information.

7. Retention and security

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, and we use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections, to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Your choices

  • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal link in your Creem receipt email.
  • You may choose Private local AI (Ollama) mode at any time to keep all engineering content on your computer.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
